Do You Think The Striking Gm Workers Are Overpaid?

February 2nd, 2010 8 Comments   Posted in GM

I support the GM Union strikers but I can’t help but fear that they might experience the Detroit News/Free Press back lash. Many people look at the strikers as unskilled workers who are grossly overpaid. Although I do not agree with this type of thinking, one has to wonder if it is really smart to strike with the economy being as it is. We have already lost so many manufacturing jobs in Detroit. I only hope the strikers know what they are doing and are prepared to accept the consequences.

December 2nd, 2009 13 Comments   Posted in Auto News Articles

Entitled?
Gods gift to America?
On one hand they are begging Congress to allocate funds to BAIL OUT the Auto industry.
from link:
The executives of Chrysler LLC, Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Corp., as well as the United Auto Workers union chief, were pleading their case Tuesday afternoon before the Senate Banking Committee.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081118/ap_o…
on the other hand they refuse to make any kind of concessions re pay/benefits
from link:
WASHINGTON — United Auto Workers President Ron Gettelfinger will tell a Senate panel today that Detroit’s Big Three automakers face liquidation if forced into bankruptcy and warned that taxpayers would have to pay at least $3 billion a year if the companies stopped paying for retiree health care. He also rejected new concessions by the union on wages or retiree benefits as some in Congress have demanded.http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art…
These Union Auto workers got an effed up attitude.

I think they can collect unemployment and then the UAW makes up the rest so they all get a one month vacation. If you work for the auto industry, tell us the truth. We can’t get a straight answer from the news,.

Why Are The Auto Workers Striking? Don’t They Make A Lot?

October 11th, 2009 1 Comment   Posted in Auto News Articles

saw on the news today that 45,000 UAW workers are striking against Chrysler. They also said that these workers make around $25 an hour PLUS benefits (I assume this means health insurance and a pension plan).
I don’t understand why that’s a problem. I’ve never made more than $10 an hour at any hourly jobs. Even when I got paid salary, I worked so much more than 40 hours, there’s no telling what my hourly pay worked out to. $25 an hour to me would be the jackpot. That’s about $50,000 a year. With benefits, that’s a VERY good job. So why are they complaining. Why can’t I get a job like that?
Much of it may be that they’re losing these jobs b/c they’re going overseas or to Mexico. I agree that’s not right

Why The Hell Is Gm Being Allowed To Offer Buyouts For Workers With Taxpayer Money?

September 5th, 2009 3 Comments   Posted in GM

It just doesn’t make sense. Look at GM today announcing more buyouts for workers. GRRRR WTF! The company is using taxpayer money to fund this, why should future generations be responsible for this, it make no sense what so ever. They are all about me me me, right now. They should just be fired, like anyone else would in a normal job. There is no way that the future generations are ever going to be able to support all the baby boomers at this rate considering barely any have even retired and they are already milking the system dry.

Why Do Gm Workers On The Assembly Line Make 30 Dollars An Hour?

August 8th, 2009 2 Comments   Posted in GM

Those jobs require little education and people with bachelor degrees rarely start at 25 an hour. This only drives up the cost of domestic vehicles which aren’t really good anyway. Nissan, Honda and Toyota make GM vehicles seem worthless.
