Do You Think The Striking Gm Workers Are Overpaid?

February 2nd, 2010 8 Comments   Posted in GM

I support the GM Union strikers but I can’t help but fear that they might experience the Detroit News/Free Press back lash. Many people look at the strikers as unskilled workers who are grossly overpaid. Although I do not agree with this type of thinking, one has to wonder if it is really smart to strike with the economy being as it is. We have already lost so many manufacturing jobs in Detroit. I only hope the strikers know what they are doing and are prepared to accept the consequences.

They have to submit it today to slide it in under Bush’s ‘fast track trade authority’ and then Congress will have to vote yes or no, no changes. Personally, I think that authority is unconstitutional. The separation of powers was put there to protuct US, not the perogatives of Congress, and I don’t think the Senate had the right to delegate it.
What sort of impact do you think this will have on our auto industry and on what is left of our electronics industry?

If the stock market is truly doing that well, then companies wouldn’t be closing down. Somehow the numbers are getting fudged somewhere or businesses that are closing down are trying to f*ck people.

Genetically modified for those who don’t know. It seems we may have to accept this as the way forward to produce food as we are not going to be able to feed everyone due to the fact we are running out of land to grow food on. Is it safe?
