I want to replace my gear stick knob as it is damaged, I’ve bought a new one and want to put it in my self. I tried to pull it off but its really hard, and i dont want to damage the gear box at the same time.

I think the problem is synchronizer because a thuding noise is made from rear of car when it is shifted into 2nd gear….
