Normally the power steering cylinder can be resealed but is very time involved and parts are normally worn out with in the cylinder. Better off with a rebuilt, which will carry a warranty, and also these part is a safety item on your car. So I would not take the chance of a sub standard repair. Also check all hoses, and connections, seals, and other components involving the steering system, and use the proper approved fluids for that vehicle.

;you can remove the power steering unit and have it rebuilt. Things wear out over time and just new new seals, bearings, and gaskets. My suggestion is take it to a reputable mechanic that can repair it, and warranty the work in the event that the repair doesn’t hold.
