Could be as simple as replacing the battery
or more serious the alternater is needing replace
I have the 530i as well and had that problem last year
and it turned out that the battery had a dead cell
good luck cyah..

There is two things that I would check out first, 1. when the car is running see if you can pull the positive terminal off of the battery and see if the car keeps running, (that will tell you if the alternator is working properly)
2.when the car is off and you don’t have anything on, unplug the light from the hood (if it is working) (its the light that comes on when you open your hood to your engine) make sure all power is off to the car (dome lights, key is off and in your pocket, trunk is closed tight, glove box light isn’t on, radio/amplifier powered speaker box, on board satellite radio etc.) (now go to the positive side of your battery and take the positive cable off and then reattach it to the battery, see if the cable makes a spark, if it does, that means you have something on in your car called a draw, it will suck your battery down all the time, so you will need to have a mechanic take a look, if it doesn’t spark then take the battery to any Auto Zone or auto parts store and have them do a load test on the battery.

I would take that battery and have it tested. Never know what could be wrong with it. Depending on how long you have had it, they might replace it for free especially if if your fault that is acting up.

The symptoms you describe indicate a bad cell in your battery.
