How Do You Think The New 2008 Bmw M3 Will Go Against Upcoming Competition?

I saw the m3 video on insideline and I love the exhast note. How do you think it compares with the Audi RS4, Mercedes C63 AMG, and the upcoming Lexus IS-F? For around $60,000, would you rather get a different car?

Hey, the RS4 has a mean exhaust note too. The M3 and RS4 offer the same performance (0-60 in 4.8 s), while the IS-F, according to the website for lexus, does 0-60 in 4.9. The Mercedes is around there as well. The RS4 is probably your best choice for a daily driver, with the performance of the M3 and the space of a sedan, not to mention Audi’s excellent Quattro AWD system. However, the Lexus is by far the most dependable luxury car brand out there. Mercedes screams mid-life crisis. The M3 probably has the best looks, but may not be the best choice for an only car. If it were up to me, I would pick the RS4

I think the new m3 will do well against the competition. I spend a lot of time at the track and was very disapointed with the 1/4 mile performance of the m3’s and am excited for the v8 versions to come out and play. If I were to spend 60k on a car and I had to intentions to modify the car (example- buy a car for 30k and put 30k of mods into it) the new m3 would absolutely be my first choice. It is a awsome combination of speed, handling, class, and looks. I am a huge fan of the new m3’s, they will be awsome.

Owning a BMW is less of a mathematical or financial formula than it is a love affair. If you love BMW’s, I’m sure the new M3 will be a religious experience. All the cars you mention may have minor, or even major differences in bang-for-the-buck, but I think if you’re a buyer in that price range it matters a lot more how you feel when you drive the car. So if you’re not a BMW fan, drive them all and buy the one that makes you go “Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee” the loudest!! Good Luck!!!
