If you do not transfer title of the vehicle to your name,the insurance can remain the same regardless of your address………..He most likely has you as a rider on his policy (his car,his insurance,but you are covered while driving it).My son has his own address but drives his car (in my name,my insurance)as a rider on my policy.It will only change if he changes it.

Well yes because you are no longer living under your fathers roof you would have to tell them that your name has changed and then they will put you on your husbands policy or your own. Life as you know it will change now so good luck and hope you have a wonderful marriage been married for a ong time and stilll love it

Yes. Right after he calls them up and tells them that you are now married and don’t live at his address any more. And yes, that is the proper thing for him to do because when you sign up for insurance you agree to tell them of any changes that would affect your insurance.
So what you do when you marry is either get your own policy, or have your husband add you to his policy. Remember that insurance goes with the vehicle, not the driver, so if you have your own car, give them that information so they can add it.

The situation doesn’t have to do with the name change, it has to do with the ADDRESS change.
If your car is financed, you can not leave it without insurance or the lien holder slaps insurance on top of the loan.. and it’s not cheap!
If the car is paid off, just get your P.I.P., but do drive carefully.
